Honeymoon - Day 5

Thursday, August 7, 2008 - Heidi

It's tea time again. Hot Earl Grey tea, piano music and a comfy couch tucked away in a cozy room off the Great Hall. My eyes keep straying away to a collage of pieces of china hanging on the walls. They're beautiful and they remind me of my Grandma Wright and her love of teacups and saucers.

It's nearing the end of our last day here and I feel a tad melancholy. I love this place with all of its grandor yet it still seems quaint. I would love to come back here again.

Today after breakfast we went back to the room and just relaxed and talked. After a while we went to the pool to swim. It felt great (after I got used to the frigid temperature). There are a lot more people in the outdoor pool than in the indoor pool. After that we went back to our room. The maid was still in there so we explored the other end of the hallway and found a balcony that overlooked the great hall. It was pretty neat.

Dinner is at 6:30 in the Dining Room. I hope to get to do the Historical tour but if we don't, it's ok. I do want to visit the Presidential Lounge though.

Well, there's some guy on his cell phone disturbing the mood so I'm done writing for now.

This may be our last journal entry for the honeymoon. Heidi and I have had a wonderful time, though I am anxious to get back home to get our home set up and to see our life together begin.

We woke up this morning, had breakfast then went back to the room. We laid in bed, laughed, talked and had a pillow fight and just relaxed. We went to the pool outside but there were bees swarming all over and Heidi got tired of me acting like a baby, so we went back up to the room. We got showered and changed, then we came down downstairs for tea time. We're sitting in a little room, sipping tea, listening to a group of old ladies chatter and very mellow piano music while I read.

Dinner tonight is at 6:30 in the main dining room. After dinner, we'll go back upstairs to pack and we're going to get an early start back home tomorrow.

Our honeymoon has been perfect and what I love about being married is having Heidi next to me, being able to talk to her and knowing that she is my best friend, my partner, my helper in life and ministry. I thank God every day for sending her into my life and nothing makes me happier than to pull her into my arms and to kiss her.
