Lugar Not Interested in Obama's Cabinet

As I reported in a previous post, there had been speculation that President-elect Barack Obama (D) would invite Indiana Senator Richard Lugar (R) to be his Secretary of State. However, MSNBC reported that Lugar would not be interested in the Secretary of State or any other cabinet post in Obama's White House.

MSNBC has also reported that Emanuel has accepted the Chief of Staff position, and Politico reports that Robert Gibbs will be Obama's press secretary.

I still hope that Obama keeps his campaign promise of a bipartisan cabinet; such a move could help heal the wounds that divide the country.
